Hillary Clinton describes herself as a political outsider, despite her experience in Congress and President Obama’s cabinet. Donald Trump describes himself as a member of the lucky sperm club. I support Hillary Clinton as a good future president.
I support Hillary Clinton as a good future president because she is going to give these specific things to America: family leave, early education, minimum wage, immigration, infrastructure, trade, wall street, taxation, criminal justice, foreign policy, and social security. I mainly focus on family leave, early education, immigration, criminal justice, and foreign policy because to me as a 13 year-old, those topics are the ones that are important to me.
According to the article “What Hillary Clinton would do to America” by Max Ehrenfreund and Jim Tankersley, “One of Clinton’s goals is to help workers take time off the job to care for loved ones.” Her plan is that every worker would be entitled to up to 12 weeks of paid family leave and medical leave. When that worker is on leave they will be paid two-thirds of what they usually make. A change in family leave would be a good thing for America because some jobs won’t let their workers off for a event that is important to them.
Early Education for Clinton is just another part of the family plan she has to help families get by. Ehrenfreund and Tankersley from the Washington Post say, “She has said that her goal is for no family to have to spend more than 10 percent of their income on child care.” Education in early childhood can help children succeed later on in school and in adulthood, according to many economists.
Researches from The Washington Post found that “Clinton has said that one of her immediate priorities, if elected, would be to extend President Obama’s executive actions on immigration, giving a broad group of undocumented immigrants the opportunity to apply to law enforcement for a reprieve from deportation.” However the court says otherwise for Obama’s actions; they want to stymie them. So whether Clinton will be able to do anything further if she gets elected will depend on if the court agrees.
The Washington Post reports that, “‘There is something profoundly wrong when African American men are still far more likely to be stopped and searched by police, charged with crimes, and sentenced to longer prison terms than are meted out to their white counterparts,’ Clinton said.” Clinton has very strong plans on what she wants to do about Criminal Justice. Her plans are to reduce prison terms for nonviolent federal offenders and to have police adopt strategies to help build their trust with the citizens and civilians.
Reported by Ehrenfreund and Tankersley, “Clinton has also said, though, that she supports Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran. Under the agreement, Iran will reduce the number of its centrifuges and the size of its stockpile of enriched uranium. Iran also agreed not to move toward enriching weapons-grade uranium for another 15 years and to submit to regular inspections by U.N. officials.” I agree with the agreement she has with Iran because I believe it will help our relationship with Iran now and in the future on how Clinton acknowledges Iran.
Not everyone believes that Hillary Clinton would be a good future president like I do. For instance, Trump supporters believe that Clinton will not give a change to America and will follow in Obama’s footsteps. The polls from CNN politics say that Donald Trump is in a tough spot. The CNN politics polls say, “Hillary Clinton and her Republican opponent are in a statistical dead heat in Georgia, according to a new Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll, and she has a double-digit lead in battleground Virginia, according to Christopher Newport University. In Georgia, Trump leads Clinton 44%-42%, among likely voters, which is well within the poll’s 4.3 percentage point margin of error.” I support Hillary Clinton as a future president because I feel like she will bring us together stronger like she always says “Stronger Together.”
