The Central Middle School spring teams are ready to bring the heat this season. The girls´ and boys´ lacrosse, baseball, softball, track and field, and girls´ soccer teams are very confident this season. All teams are ready to take home the “W” and show their opponents what Central is all about!
The lacrosse team is led by one of their captains, Bryanna Stamas, this year. She says, “This season I want to work on communication with my team. I also want to continue to show the girls basic skills they will need to become better players. As a captain, I want to show my teammates teamwork and to eventually build a family bond.” This year the lacrosse team wants to beat the up north opponents they lost to last year and to go undefeated. Bryanna wants to improve as a team leader and help lead the team to nothing less than success. This upcoming season the lacrosse team is not only worried about bringing home a win, but also coming together as a team and putting in the work. In the same way Bryanna wants to be successful, so does track and field teammate Carter Crumpler.
“This track and field season, I want to have a really good family bond with my teammates. I would like a team where everyone is hardworking and have a lot to bring to the table. Hopefully I become team captain and help lead my team to success. I hope that this season everyone has more team effort than last year. I want to win EVERYTHING and go undefeated!” Carter Crumpler says. Carter also says that he feels no pressure this season. He wants nothing more than to win and show everyone what the track and field team is all about! Carter isn´t the only one who has something to prove–so does baseball player Dominic Velazquez.
Dominic Velazquez, a 14 year old student on the CMS baseball team, says, “This season I just want to be a good teammate. I want my teammates to know that help is here if they need improvement and just want to let them know that they can always come to me. I don’t feel pressure this season; if the hard work is there,we will win.” For himself, Dominic is hoping not to get injured and play to the best of his ability. Dominic is looking forward to this season and he hopes he and his team will represent the CMS school name!
